MMS Design employs dedicated staff for the purpose of training and supporting our customers in the use of the products we supply. The cost of this service is therefore not free. We believe we add value in an efficient and professional manner, and we aim to make our customers more productive and proficient in what they need to do while using our products.
TELEPHONIC CONSULTATIONS & TRAINING
Model Maker Systems (MMS) software support is provided free of charge to customers who have an active software support subscription which is paid for and renewed annually or bi-annually and with no outstanding payments due. Telephonic support services that are covered as part of the MMS software subscription are as follows:
To assist new users to gain an understanding in the use of the software and specific functions - these sessions are usually 2-3 minutes in duration.
Assistance with software that is not functioning as expected.
How to interpret error messages and unexpected results.
All other MMS software calls are seen as training or consultations and are billed for monthly in arrears.
Sessions are timelogged using special software that tracks the time spent on any support call to or from our offices.
MMS Design reserves the right to bill for calls on merit. In most cases, if calls from clients are less than 5 minutes in duration and limited to 3 calls per week, these calls may be exempted from incurring any cost. If the support agent feels that a customer is calling frequently or that the customer is receiving value in the form of advice or training pertaining to any of the products we sell and support, we reserve the right to bill our time spent on such calls.
All minutes are accumulated on a per user per company or branch basis during a 30 day cycle. If no calls are placed by the customer to MMS Design, and vice versa, there will be no bill issued to the customer for that month. In other words, you will only receive a training or consultation bill if you use the service.
GENERAL IT SUPPORT
Matters related to general IT support (not related to the software or equipment sold by MMS Design) will be billed for at the same rate as above. This includes for example Windows, email, Excel, Word, virus software settings, firewall settings, Google Earth settings and IT support that the customer is not able to perform by themselves.
SUPPORT SESSION VIDEO RECORDING
To add value to the service rendered, a video recording can be made of the online training / consultation session using screen capturing software. This recording can be made available to the customer and be transferred to the customer during the call or via a cloud share link emailed to the customer after the call.
It is the clients responsibility to request that the session be recorded.
Recorded sessions will only be available for download for 7 days after the session. It is the client’s responsibility to download the session in a timely manner.
BILLING FOR ONLINE TRAINING AND CONSULTATION
The billing rate as at 1 September 2021 is R900 per hour with a minimum fee of R250 per month for consultations or training used that month. These prices are subject to change without notice.
BILLING WORKFLOW
Customers who made use of the telephonic training/consultation service will receive a Pro-Forma Invoice the first week of the following month. The customer will then supply a proof of payment or formal purchase order to MMS Design upon which a tax invoice will be issued. Full settlement is required within 14 days of the invoice date.
DEFAULTERS
If any amounts are outstanding for more than 60 days, MMS Design reserves the right to refuse subsequent service calls, consultations or technical support until such time as the overdue payments are settled in full.
ON SITE TRAINING/CONSULTATION
On-site training or consultation is charged at a rate per day. Travel time, travel costs e.g. flights, car hire, taxi’s, immunisations, COVID tests, accommodation and living expenses are for the client’s accountQuotations will be supplied to the customer and need to be settled at least 5 working days before travel by any of our agents.
MODEL MAKER SYSTEMS SOFTWARE SALE TERMS
WARRANTY
Security hardlock keys are warranted against any defect for 60 days after purchase. Out of warranty, defective security keys may be replaced at an additional charge of R1200 for single workstations and network keys at ZAR 2500.00 plus postage.Older versions of the software may not be compatible with newer HL keys. It may be required to upgrade the software and renew the software subscription to replace defective HL keys.
SOFTWARE DELIVERY
Clients may download the software from www.modelmaker.co.za. Please create a new account with your current email address and contact details.
All modules and upgrades which do not require HL key replacements can be upgraded on the same day via email if the order and proof of payment are received before 14h00. Subject to the availability of MMS support personnel at the time of order. Please ensure that you provide the correct email address in the space provided on our quotation.
Orders and proof of payments received after 14:00 will result in software setup files and/or SL key licenses being emailed the next business day or as soon as we received it from our supplier.Installation can be arranged.
Additional costs incurred for time and travel costs will be invoiced, if deemed necessary.
DISCOUNT
All quotes in South Africa are offered at a list price which is an amount payable after 30 days. If the client pays the 30-day amount before delivery with no regard to the COD payment option, no attempt will be made by MMS Design to refund the client the difference in price. Please ensure that you select and pay the correct amount when placing your order. The 30 Day, COD and PayPal prices are displayed on our quotations with all applicable tax/fee totals included.
A 15% settlement discount will be given for all NEW software purchases, subject to the following conditions:
Payment is done electronically into our bank account prior to delivery.
International orders are billed COD only and will already include the 15% discount.
Upgrades will not be discounted except during special promotions.
The bulk order discount for more than one copy per order will be 20% for the second copy, 30% for the third copy and up to 40% for the fourth or more copies of the software.
Bulk order discounts are only valid for purchases made on the same order and up to 1 month after original invoice date.
EXPORTS
All exports are quoted EX-WORKS Cape Town and are exclusive of South African VAT
MMS Design requires payments to be made by bank transfer prior to delivery. No exceptions.
Prices exclude bank charges, government taxes, duties, courier fees, installation, and training.
Payment can also be made via PayPal (for VISA, MasterCard, etc) if required. An additional service fee of up to 5% of the quoted total due may be applicable. Please contact us if you prefer this method of payment upon which we will send you a PayPal invoice in the currencies supported by PayPal. The PayPal amount is shown on all quotes for your convenience.

ANNUAL SOFTWARE SUPPORT SUBSCRIPTION
Free telephonic support* will be provided for the first 60 days after which a software subscription agreement may be required.
The software subscription agreement provide companies with:

Free Internet software updates for the duration of the software subscription term.
One-hour (non-accumulative) free consultation per month, per company** at MMS Design offices for the duration of the software subscription term. If you don't use it, you lose it.
Remote technical support* over the internet using TeamViewer

The software subscription amount is an annual renewable amount and the value (calculated based on purchased modules less applicable discounts) will not escalate if the software subscription is renewed annually.
A renewal notice will be emailed to the nominated primary contact person on the first day of the software subscription expiry month. The onus is on the client to keep track of the renewal due date and take necessary action to renew the subscription. Any change of address or primary contact persons must be supplied to MMS Design in writing only. If no order for renewal is received within 1 month after the last calendar day of the software subscription expiry month it will be accepted that the client no longer requires the software subscription. If the software subscription expired, upgrade fees may apply to reinstate the software subscription.
The software subscription is supplied by MMS Design. Any additional software module and/or subscription purchased will be quoted pro-rata and proportional to the remaining months of the existing software subscription term of which the value will be added to any existing software subscription amounts.
There will only be one software subscription agreement and one MMS license agreement with the client irrespective of the number of software licenses purchased. Additional licenses will be added to the current software subscription unless specified otherwise. Such requests will be supplied to MMS Design in writing, upon which a separate account will be created for billing purposes. Bulk discounts will be affected by the splitting of accounts.
SOFTWARE
MODEL MAKER SYSTEMS (MMS) is the developer and MMS Design is the distributor of all MMS software subject to quotations supplied by MMS Design.
TRAINING
Training is not included in the purchase price of any software purchased. Various training options are available and can be viewed on www.mmsdesign.co.za.
To get started with Model Maker we have an excellent DVD training option available.
On-site training can be arranged at additional time and travel cost if required.
SL KEYS (ONLY APPLICABLE TO SINGLE-USER LICENSES - NO NETWORK OPTION)
HL keys can only be exchanged for SL keys if the user has an active software subscription.
To exchange an HL key for an SL key, the old HL key must be returned by express courier service to Model Maker Systems in Centurion within 7 days of the instruction to change HL to SL. Contact [email protected] for delivery details or to initiate the exchange. MMS Design is not part of this process.
There is no cost to exchange a HL key for a SL key.
An SL key is managed via the internet and must be registered on the Model Maker Systems (MMS) cloud based database via the internet by running one of the MMS software products for the first time.
The SL key can be authorized and un-authorized to work on a specific computer. The user email address and company account number are part of the authorization.Neither MMS Design nor Model Maker Systems will authorize or un-authorized any SL key on behalf of any user.
Once in any 30-day period (since the last active internet connection on program start-up) an internet connection must be available for confirmation of the SL key status. If successful, the 30 day counter will reset itself back to zero (0) giving another 30 days internet free use.
MMS Design must be notified in writing when a computer with an active SL key is stolen. A new key can be issued at no cost and the old key will be deactivated on the MMS database rendering the license on the stolen computer useless.
The latest version of the software is normally required to use SL keys. Users must download and install the latest version of the software from www.modelmaker.co.za.
